Robert "Bob" H. Macroy

Robert “Bob” H. MacRoy, 68, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018.
Bob was born in Chicago, IL on December 4, 1949, son of Thomas and Jane (Vollertsen) MacRoy. He married Karen J. (Carlson) MacRoy and had 3 children. After Karen tragically passed away in 1985, Bob married Linda D. (Stickles) MacRoy who had 2 sons. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather with many special friends. Bob was a very hard worker and dedicated family man. Bob worked for Rockford Products, ELCO Industries, and Swedish American Hospital. He formed many lifelong friendships with his coworkers. In his free time, Bob enjoyed playing cards, watching the Cubs and wrestling, fixing things, building and woodworking, but most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. He had a tremendous love of animals and they were also part of the family. Bob had a loving and kind heart and will be greatly missed.
Surviving relatives include his loving wife, Linda MacRoy; children, Victoria (Scott) Murphy, Matthew (Sara) MacRoy, Caitlin MacRoy, Andrew Corirossi and Alan (Monica) Corirossi; grandchildren, Taryn & Keegan Murphy, Marek MacRoy, Lauren Pair, Kaylee & Justin Corirossi and Lauren Buroker; brother, Tom (Robbie) MacRoy, sister, Ellen MacRoy (Bill), brother and sister-in-law, Scott (Kathy) Clemens and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; wife, Karen MacRoy; and beloved aunt, Jean Leavitt.
Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel. Gathering of family and friends will take place from 1:00 p.m. until time of service in the funeral home. Private family inurnment will conclude in Scandinavian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or in his name to Boxer Rebound, 4915 Ringwood Road, Ringwood, IL 60072 or PAWS Humane Society, 7282 N.
