Robert L. Adams

Robert L. Adams passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, November 5, 2009 in his home. Born July 12, 1945 Mineral Wells, TX, son of LeRoy and Ida Mae Adams. Bob was the owner and operator of Adams Pest Control form 29 years. He was a long-time member of the Byron Rotary Club and was very active in outreach ministries. He loved playing golf with his sons and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters, Robin (Brian) DeBenedetto, Rockford, Jennifer Adams, Wilmington, DE; sons, Damon Adams and Ryan Adams both of Rockford; grandchildren, Brandon (Jessica) Cates, Brittany Adams, Adam and Gabriel DeBenedetto and Dylan Adams; brothers, David (Bernadette) Adams, San Marcos, TX., and John Adams of North Carolina; special friend, Kathy Carter; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved beagle, Jenny. Preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Machelle Cates.

Machelle S. Cates passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, November 5, 2009 in her home. Born September 17, 1964 in Rockford, daughter of Robert L and Carol C. Adams. She worked for her father at Adams Pest Control. She is survived by son, Brandon (Jessica) Cates, Xenia, IL., and daughter, Brittany Adams, Rockford; sisters, Robin (Brian) DeBenedetto, Jennifer Adams; brothers, Damon Adams and Ryan Adams. Preceded in death by her mother.

Funeral Service Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Peter Dibley of First Covenant Church. Visitation for Bob and Machelle will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2009 from 5-8 p.m and continues Thursday from 9-9:45 a.m. Private interment to follow in Dixon, IL.
