Robert M Steele

Robert M. Steele, 79, of Rockford passed away Thursday March 19, 2015 at OSF St Anthony Medical Center, after a sudden illness. He was born January 8, 1936 in San Diego, CA, the son of Paul and Effie Drehoble. He married Mary Melendrez on April 6, 1956. He worked at OSF St Anthony Medical Center for over 20 years, Rockford Burrell, and currently at the Lombardi Club. He was a member of St James Church, and the Lombardi Club.

Survivors include his beloved bride, Mary. Three children, Dee Dee (Mark) Fassbinder, Valerie (Dan) Heaslip and Robert (Meribeth) Steele. Grandchildren, Michael and Stephanie Schoenberg, Nick (Anna) Nunally and Rachel (Eric) Johnson. Great grandchildren, Luke and Emma Nunally. Sisters, Nancy (Al) Martin and Barb Peterson. Predeceased by his parents and sister Donna. He lived for his family and friends.
