Born October 21, 1935 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Rose and Hubert Bronkala.Served in the US Marine Corps.Partner in the former Busher General Tire Company. Later General Manager at Harris Tire, Rockford.In retirement enjoyed volunteering in Patient Services at Rockford Memorial Hospital. A devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marguerite (Sieckmann), and their son, Eric (Laura) of Knoxville, Tennessee. Proud Grampa of Jake and Luke. Also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Chris (Sieckmann) and Al Ohrmund, of California.Member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Dundee; Rockford Lodge No. 102 A.F.& A.M.; Charter member and Past Patron of Star of Rochelle Chapter No. 1030, Order of the Eastern Star, and Grand Representative of Minnesota in Illinois, 1996-97; Hope Court No.11, Order of the Amaranth, Janesville, Wisconsin.Supporter of Freeport Chapter Order of DeMolay.Exhibited pride in his community by working as an Election Judge.Enjoyed Cub Scouts with Eric, taking part as a Nelson School Webelos Scout Leader. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved the lakes of Northern Wisconsin. Great fan of old time radio shows and a black and white movie buff. Services at 10:30am Friday March 19, 2010 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with pastor William Yonker of Immanuel Church officiating. Visitation from 3pm until 9pm Thursday March 18 in the funeral home with Eastern Star service at 7pm and Masonic service at 8pm. Visitation also from 9:30 until time of service Friday in the funeral home. Bobs family will be forever grateful for the very loving care given to him by the professional nursing staff at Rockford Memorial Hospital, especially the ICU and the B4 Progressive Care Unit.Memorials may be made to Immanuel Church, Dundee, c/o the family.
