Roberta I Neslund

Roberta I. Neslund, 89, of Rockford, was called home on Sunday, December 17, 2017. She was born in Bridgeport, IL on June 7, 1928; the daughter of Edwin and Dorothy (Belles) Schnepper. She graduated from Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, IL. Roberta was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church where she regularly helped serve communion and also taught Sunday School for 25 years. Roberta retired from Modern Metal in 1994 and worked at National Lock in the Payroll Department. She loved bowling, ceramics, needlepoint, Christmas Trees, and chocolate. Roberta was a selfless woman who often gave to those in need and she loved her family dearly.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Michael) Muskievicz, Donald Neslund, Debra (Al) Domico, Jon (fiancé, Caroline Denny) Neslund, and Ann (Dan) DeLang; grandchildren, Barbara Neslund, Tanya (Andrew) Eikstadt; Jennifer (Matt) Rosenberg, Elizabeth (Raymond) Gibler, Christina (Nick) Fain, Sandra (Jonathan Eastman) Domico, Erich (Emily) Neslund, Christian Neslund; great grandchildren, Lehnie and Raef Gibler, Teddy Rosenberg, Augie and Otis Eikstadt, Grayson Fain; brother, Ralph (Darlene) Schnepper. Roberta is predeceased by her parents; siblings, Betty (Ray) Eagleson, Pauline (Charlie) Allen, Mary (Al) Zimmerman; niece, Ronna Bearrows.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108; with the Rev. Richard Schnepper officiating. Visitation from 9:00 AM until time of service on Friday. Committal service will follow to Sunset Memorial Gardens.
