Rodolfo Marcial

September 26, 1943 — May 7, 2013

Rodolfo "Rody" M. Marcial, 69 of Rockford and formerly of Belvidere, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. His life's journey began September 26, 1943 in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines born to Candido and Anastacia Marcial (both deceased). Rody was married to his loving wife Victoria Crisostomo on May 9, 1967. By day he was an accountant for various companies, including Belvedere Company, Rockford Memorial Hospital, Clarcor Company and most recently retiring from ABC Company in Beloit in 2000 after immigrating from the Philippines May 5, 1975. However, his true occupation was coaching and inspiring his children, grandchildren and the youth in Belvidere and Rockford in the game of tennis. As a participant in a BNP retreat he found his way back to the Catholic faith and became an active parish member of Holy Family Catholic Church and former member of St. James Catholic Church, Belvidere where he was a faithful believer in the power of prayer, the devotion to the Virgin Mother Mary, and sharing the truths of Jesus Christ. During his journey on earth, he was known as a friend, neighbor, Dad, Tito, Kuya, Coach, Brother Rody, and Grandpa to those who know and love him. He is dearly missed. His family would like to recognize his brother and sisters of the church, his family in the Philippines and Texas, and his close childhood friends "The Dreamers" for all the support and companionship they have provided to Rodolfo and Victoria throughout the years. There is a very special thank you to the Filipino prayer group and friends who have given solace to Victoria and her family during this difficult time. Survivors include his wife Victoria of Rockford; children, Sheila Marcial, Cindy (Christopher) Nevenhoven, Abby (Al) Marcial-Wonn, Fil Marcial, Eva Marcial and Rudyard Marcial; grandchildren, Ana, Quinten, Belen, Cecelia, Hunter, Hayden, Albert, Noah, Eleanor and Henry; siblings, Felisa (Dante) SanPedro, Alfredo (Michi) Marcial, Mario (Ana) Marcial, Reynaldo (Lolet) Marcial and Tomas Marcial and numerous nieces and nephews.
