Mike Fitzpatrick, 82, of Rockford, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2009 after a long illness. Born on February 19, 1927 in Rockford; the son of Leo and Edith (Colville) Fitzpatrick. Married Lottie Makosh on June 17, 1950 in Rockford. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mike was a 1945 graduate of East High School where he excelled in basketball and baseball. He also played basketball for Ray Meyer at DePaul University. Mike was a real estate agent for McKiski Lewis Realtors for many years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and a past member of the Blackhawk Athletic Club and White Eagles Club. Mike had a passion for golf and enjoyed spending time with his family. His humor and his smile will be missed by all. Well miss you ?Grandpa Mickey! Survivors include his wife, Lottie; children, Kathy (Ted) Beck, Tim (Kathy) Fitzpatrick, Karin (Marty) Litwin and Teresa (Daryl) Streed; grandchildren, Lindsay (Josh) Dannenberg, Tricia (Fortunato) Salamone, Stacey Beck (Chad Bonacorsi), Scott Fitzpatrick, Joelle (Wes) Szyszka, Emily and Ben Litwin, Brandon and Dylan Streed; great-grandchildren, Gwendelynn and Sydney Dannenberg and Lucas and Rylee Szyszka; sisters, Patricia (DeWolfe) Edwards, Kay Fitzpatrick, Virginia Conley; brother-in-law, Willard Schulstrom and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; sister, Shirley Schulstrom; brothers, Donald and John Fitzpatrick and grandson, Adam Beck. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. with a rosary recited at 6:45p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
