Rosie M. Rowe

February 8, 1938 — April 6, 2016

Rosalie, ‘Rosie’ M. Rowe, 78, departed this life on April 6th, 2016 to be greeted by her lovely parents, three dear brothers, one of her sweet, beautiful sisters and some other rather amusing family members in heaven.

Rosie was born in Regent, North Dakota, on February 8, 1938; to parents, Fred and Katherine (Burghart) Peters. She married her loving husband, Del Rowe on August 22, 1959, at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Mott, North Dakota.

She read as often as physically possible. At the end of high school, she was salutatorian of her senior class. One of the reasons being that the shy teen didn’t wish to give the required valedictorian speech. Throughout life, she mastered varying word games, crosswords and puzzles, first in paper form and then electronically. Rosie remained ever an astute observer of this world and cared deeply about people from all circumstances. Her keen mind and caring heart allowed her to understand things outside of her own situation.

She was a devoted bookworm as well as a wonderful wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, sister and friend. Rosie gave her grandchildren tips in how to advance in iPad games like CandyCrush, as upon getting past a certain level it became boring. She enjoyed a bit of shopping and a good giggle. Cooking never held any distinct appeal. Eating things like shrimp and chocolate, (not together of course), did.

No doubt she is currently celebrating her liberation from doctors appointments, medications, etc. Enjoy the great beyond Rosie. How dearly we will all miss you for now. See you again one day. God bless.

Rosie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Del Rowe; children, Michael Rowe, Brent (Elizabeth) Rowe, Gregg (Jennifer) Rowe, and Jessica (Alex) Nicholls; grandchildren, Brittany Rowe, Austin Rowe, Tessa Rowe, Sadie Rowe, Rochelle Nicholls, and Vincent Nicholls; brothers, Kenny Peters, Fred (Carol) Peters, Ted (Peggy) Peters, Tom Peters; sisters, Cathryn Peters, Edie (Bob) Pederson, Sherri (Rick) McNeil, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Rosie will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2016; at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum; 8616 West State St., Winnebago, IL; with Father Paul Lipinski officiating. Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel assisted the Rowe Family.
