Russell J. Milano, 63
We wake up this morning without one of the points of light in Rockford.nbsp; Russ Milano died suddenly Saturday.nbsp; He was a beloved husband, father, friend and neighbor.nbsp; Russ was an accomplished cook, caretaker, volunteer, advocate for all children, cyclist and baby whisperer.nbsp; He belonged to the Rockford Blackhawk Bike Club and Rockford Friends of the Library. He volunteered at Motherhouse, Ellis Arts Academy and Womanspace.nbsp; Russ enjoyed camping, biking, gardening, reading and watching wildlife.nbsp; We lost a thoughtful, caring person.
Russs career as an accountant started at Essex Wire.nbsp; After spending 20 years at Sundstrand Corporation,nbsp; he became the Bursar at Northern Illinois University, and retired from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2003.nbsp;nbsp;
Survivors include his wife, Adele; daughters, Jennifer Milano, Adela (Amol Mhatre) Milano and Elizabeth Milano; his mother, Ann Milano; siblings, Carla (Joel) Nelson, Carmen (Bronwyn Reece) Milano ,Nick (Jane) Milano, Tony (Sara) Milano, Rosemary Milano and several nieces and nephews.nbsp; Predeceased by his son David in 1990 and his father, Carmen Milano in 2004.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2011 in the chapel of Provena Cor Mariae Center with Rev. Michael Librandi officiating.nbsp; Memorial visitation from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
