Russell W. Dade

Russell W. Dade, 91 of Rockford, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at Riverbluff Nursing Home. Born September 6, 1916 in Fontana, WI, son of John and Clara (Hoelzel) Dade. Married Bernadette Westholder on January 12, 1983 in Hawaii. Worked several years as a driver for Woodward Governor and also drove for Peoria/Rockford Bus Co. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Riverbluff Nursing Home, blue jay and dove wings and to the nurses and staff of Rockford Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his wife of Rockford; daughters, Jean (Marty) Tyska of CA, Judy Clark of Waukegan and Terry (David) Dade-Nesseth of Cherry Valley; step-children, Joseph (Kathleen) Westholder of Penn, Kevin (Barbara) Westholder, Sr. of Machesney Park, Andrew Westholder of CO, Patricia (Stephen) Bertrand of NC and Maureen McDevitt of Rockford; 8 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren and several great grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Olsen of WI; 2 sister-in-laws, Mary Dade and Dorothy Kittleson and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Elaine;son-in-law, Ed Clark;step-son-in-law, Bill McDevitt and 6 siblings. Funeral Mass, Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd with visitation from 9-9:45. Private interment in Arlington Memorial Park.
