RUTH MARION WILHELMSON, 93 ROCKFORD Ruth Marion Wilhelmson, 93, of Rockford, formerly of Skokie, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. She was born March 19, 1919, at home in Chicago, daughter of Swedish parents, Bernard Ben K. and Freda J. Larson Johnson. Graduated from Senn High School and met her sweetheart, Bernard W. Wilhelmson at a young peoples church outing. They were married Nov. 21, 1942, in Summerdale Evangelical Free Church in Chicago. She was a bookkeeper, working parttime in a tax office for many years, as well as working for an insurance company. She was an active and faithful member of her church in Summerdale and continued her faith in Rockford, attending many services at Fairhaven and First Evangelical Free Church. Ruth was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend to many. She loved Swedish food, chocolate and always enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She was a woman of strong faith, loved tending to her husband and family and will always be known for her lovely smile. Her life was deeply interwoven with the lives of her husband, two children and her church community. Survivors include children, Robert B. (Betty) Wilhelmson of Mahomet, Nancy R. Wilhelmson of Red Wing, Minn.; grandson, Bradley (Molly) Wilhelmson of Chicago; and greatgranddaughter, Elly Ann Wilhelmson. Predeceased by her parents, and her husband and one true love on July 30, 2011. Memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center Chapel., 3470 N. Alpine Road, with interment at 2:30 p.m. in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines. Memorials may be made to Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center.
