Sally Craig

Sally Craig, 58, Rockford, died from breast cancer on Saturday, January, 23, 2010, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 5, 1952, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Richard and Betty (Harbert) Gaedke. Sally married Stewart Craig in Fox Point, WI on June 1, 1974. She was a Registered Nurse at Rockford Memorial Hospital in Labor and Delivery for over 20 years, many of them as Nurse Manager. She then managed Lockwood Horse Park for 3 years. Sally was then with Rockford Memorial Home Healthcare, OSF St. Anthony Medical Center as Manager of Labor and Delivery, and most recently as an RN with Heartland Hospice. Sally practiced the Bahai faith and was a member of the Rockford Bahai community. She taught countless people how to live a balanced life through Ayurvedic Medicine and was a co-founder of Healing Pathways Cancer Resource Center in Rockford. Sallys personality reached out to people in all walks of life. She showed unconditional love for all the kindred spirits in her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family in her beloved Key West, Florida.

Survived by her husband, Stewart; son, Ben (Nicole) Craig, Chicago, daughters, Jeanne (Adam) Harrison, London, England, and Annie Craig, Urbana; brother, John Gaedke, Milwaukee, WI; mother, Betty Gaedke, Milwaukee, WI; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and Steve Hawes, Galesburg. Predeceased by her father, Richard.

Funeral Services will be at 11am, Friday, January, 29, 2010, in Second Congregational United Church of Christ, 318 N. Church St. Rockford, IL 61101 with Dr. J. Michael Solberg officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation from 4pm until 8pm, Thursday, January 28, 2010, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home Funeral Home and Crematory, Rockton Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av.
