Sandra M. "Sandy" Lane

Sandra M. “Sandy” Lane, 68, of Rockford, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at her home.

Sandy was born December 24, 1949 in Rockford, IL, daughter of Roy and Mary (Castiglione) Jakeway. She grew up and lived in Rockford all of her life. Sandy graduated from Auburn High School, class of 1967. She married Rickie Lane on December 6, 1980. Throughout life, Sandy enjoyed cooking at home where she was a fulltime gourmet chef, reading, and “playin’ in the kitchen.” She was a member of Riverside Assembly of God Church and was also a kitchen coordinator at the church. Sandy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. She will be greatly missed.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband, Rickie Lane; son, Brent (Barbara) Jakeway; daughter, Brandi (Charles) Craig; brother, Robert (Janice) Jakeway; grandchildren, William (Stephanie) Mailand, Heath and Devin Jakeway, and Anthony Craig. She is predeceased by her parents, and numerous extended relatives. Special thanks to the loving and caring staff of Northern Illinois Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m at Riverside Assembly of God Church, 4242 W. Riverside Blvd., Rockford, IL 61101. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Cremation will take place following the funeral services.
