Shirley S. Parkey

Shirley B. Parkey, 66, Belvidere, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. She was born June 22, 1946, in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of Jack and Lillie Mae (Houston) Brakfield. Shirley married Larry Parkey in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1988. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved working in her beautiful flower gardens.Survived by her husband, Larry; son, James (Sandy) Rice of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Madalyn, Keagan, and Kaitlin Rice; sister, Christine (Donald) Presley of Crystal Lake; brothers, Howard (Sandy) Brakfield of Island Lake and Phillip Brakfield of Crystal Lake; brotherinlaw, Ray Brown; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and her sisters, Helen Brown and Shirley Nibblet.Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
