Spc. David J. Badie

Spc. David J. Badie, 23, Rockford, was killed in action in Afghanistan on August 1, 2008.  Born July 30, 1985, son of Netha Annis Morgan, Daniel Morgan and Shawn Badie.  Spc. Badie was a member of the 3rd BDE/1st Infantry/A Company Special Troops BN (Engr), Ft. Hood, Texas.  He attended Belvidere High School and Milton High School.  He was an adventuresome daredevil who loved life.  He was a romantic young man who was always willing to help people and would give you the shirt off his back.   Survivors include his mother, Netha Morgan, step-fathers, Daniel Morgan and Shawn Badie; brother, Luke Badie; sisters, Breanna and Kassandra Badie and step-brother, Josh Morgan.  Predeceased by his maternal grandmother.  Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Jim Roberts officiating.  Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.  Visitation from 3p.m. until 7p.m. on Tuesday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel. 1860 S.
