Stephanie Marie Verdina, 11 Our Beloved Angel Stephanie Marie Verdina, 11, of Machesney Park, died at 3:31 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2007 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center as the result of an automobile accident. Born March 31, 1996 in Rockford, the daughter of Don D. Verdina and Kelly (Wiegers) Verdina. Stephanie was a 6th grade student at Ralston Elementary School and a member of Girl Scout Troop No.492. She was an adventurous, outgoing young lady who enjoyed riding her bike, swimming, reading, playing school and going to Wisconsin Dells. She was a friend to everyone, always putting others first and making them feel better. She loved listening to her brother play drums, loved watching the Chicago Bears games with her dad and loved her dog, Payton. Survivors include her mother, Kelly Verdina; father Don D. Verdina; brother, Donny Verdina; her sister and best friend, Jessica Verdina all of Machesney Park; maternal grandparents, Ron and Fran Wiegers, South Beloit; paternal grandparents, Don (Karla) Verdina, Machesney Park; aunts and uncles, Joe Verdina, Terri (Randy) Rauch, Cleryce Dodson, Kevin (Kim) Wiegers, Kurt (Julia) Wiegers; numerous cousins and special friends, Araya, Maxine and Erica. Predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Vera Dodson and uncle, Vince Verdina. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at St. Bridget Catholic Church with Msgr. John J. Mitchell officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm with a Christian wake service at 7:30pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N.
