Steven E. Wiles

April 5, 1947 — June 30, 2022

In loving memory of Steven Earl Wiles. He was surrounded by loved ones at home in Rockford when he passed on Thursday, June 30, 2022, after battling Parkinson’s Disease caused by agent orange while serving in Korea during the Vietnam War.

Steve was born April 5, 1947 and spent his childhood in Stillman Valley. Just having celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary, he leaves behind his wife, Dorothy (Erickson) Wiles, whom he has known since the third grade. Besides being a loving husband, he was a wonderful father to Nicole (Wiles) Morris and grandfather to Wyatt and Oliver Morris. He is predeceased by his parents, Laurence and Virginia (Hoisington) Wiles and his brothers, Scott and Douglas Wiles. Steve also leaves behind many friends and extended family members.

He worked several decades at Larson and Darby Architects and enjoyed antiquing and photography on the weekends. Steve loved listening to all types of music, especially jazz. His love of music has been passed down to his grandsons. Steve Wiles left many pleasant memories that bring comfort to the sorrow we feel today.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a private burial will be held in his honor. A celebration of Steve’s life is being planned for a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family of Steve Wiles to be established at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Share online memories and condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com
