Steven R. Swanson, 58, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2009 at Swedish American Hospital. Steven was born February 28, 1950 in Rockford the son of Rodney and Mildred (Black) Swanson Steven worked as a material handler for Lowes Distribution Center and was a US Army Veteran, having enlisted in 1968 and 1974. He was a member of the Illinois Gold Wing Riders Association Chapter L, enjoyed fishing, trips to Las Vegas and riding his motorcycle. Steven is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Brian) Cook; step-son, Christopher (Tonya) Anderson; grandchildren, Kyle Kremer, Lauren Clark and Tyler, Nathan and Justin Anderson and his former wife Pamela Swanson. Steven was predeceased by his parents. A time of sharing for Steven will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 p.m. 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
