Steven "Steve" Thomas King

Steven “Steve” T. King passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018.

Steve was born August 31, 1962 in Rockford, IL, son of Thomas King and Mildred (Bronson, King) Peterson. He graduated from Page Park School in 1980. Steve was involved in the Special Olympics including bocce ball, bowling, softball, snow shoeing, volley ball, and basketball. Among many things in life, Steve especially loved drinking pop, going out to eat, going to the movies, playing video games, and watching television. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Bulls and the Cubs. Steve also loved socializing, talking on the phone, and hanging with friends. He will be dearly missed.

Steve is survived by his mother, Mildred (Lou) Peterson; sister, Penny Richardson; nephews, Tony Garner and Miles Garner. Predeceased by his father, Thomas; sister, Toni; nephew, Seth Garner.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108. The family would like to thank the staff at Creekside for the exceptional care and loving support that they gave Steve, and request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Milestone Inc. at 4060 McFarland Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.
