Susan E. Ritchie

Susan E. Ritchie, 68, passed away on July 29, 2022. She was born in Rockford, Illinois on June 16, 1954, as the only child of John and Shirley (Carlson) Ritchie. Sue attended Bloom Elementary, Lincoln Junior high and graduated from Guilford High School in 1972. She went on to receive her Associated Degree in Business from Rock Valley College in 1974. She wanted to further her career and took many more classes in business, mortgage and banking to better assist the people she helped. She was proud to work at places like City National Bank, Burr Pest Control, Johnson Olson Floor Coverings, and lastly the Rockford School System. She enjoyed her memberships with American Institute of Banking, AIB, American Banking Institute, ABI, and Working Against Violent Environments, WAVE. She served as the treasurer, secretary and vice president of these organizations that meant so much to her.

She is survived by her sons Matthew (Erika) Albers and Andrew Albers, her aunts, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents John and Shirley, as well as her grandparents Melvin and Laura (Engdahl) Carlson and Albert and Evelyn (Erickson) Lilagren Ritchie. A very special mention to her friends Carol, Diane, Kathy (Eugene and family), Patty, and Mary Jo.

A private family burial will take place at a later date at Scandinavian Cemetery in Rockford, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, Sue expressed her wishes to have any donations be made to a charity of your choice, or in active volunteer work on her behalf.
