Susan Frances Dinges

Susan Frances Dinges, 78, Rockford, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. She was born June 4, 1932 in Geneva, NY, the daughter of Fred and Stella (Sindzinski) Atkinson. Susan married William Dinges on December 13, 1952. She attended Brockport University and came to Rockford in 1955. Susan worked twenty eight years at Rockford Surgical Associates before her retirement in 1997. She also won business associate of the year in 1997 from the Forest City Charter Chapter of American Business Womens Association. Susan was member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and served as a substitute teacher at St. Patrick Catholic School. She is survived by her husband, William; children, Martin, Rockford; Steven, Heath Springs, SC; Barb(Michael) Rinaldo, Belvidere; Ned McCabe, Portsmouth Va. and Bryan Baldwin; grandchildren, Kelly (Dan) Marden, Greenfield, IN.; Kristi (Bobby) Ferguson, Beach Grove, IN.; Nathan (Kristen) Dinges, Indianapolis, IN.; Susan Dinges, Pineville, NC.; Andrew Davison, Denver, CO.; Joshua Davison, Virginia, Beach, VA.; Kristen Rinaldo, Belvidere and Brooke (Daniel) Bellehumeur, Milwaukee, WI.; great grandchildren, Jaydon, Abby, Emma, Molly and Ellie. Predeceased by parents, brothers, Arthur, Richard and Fred Atkinson and sister, Mary Pegeroso. The family would like to express a special thank you to her niece Cheryl Hammond and special friend Lois Grisparis and also, to the nursing staff on 3 east at OSF St. Anthony.
