Terrance "Terry" C. Bunge

Terrance “Terry” Carl Bunge, 90, passed away on January 29, 2021.

Terry was born on October 4, 1930 in Prescott, AZ the son of Jules and Kathleen (Duffy) Bunge. He married Dolores A. Bortkewicz on May 1, 1954 in Joliet, IL. She passed away on December 22, 2003. Terry worked at Standard Oil Company for 20 years and then at Belvedere Products for another 20 years. After retirement, he worked at C.E.S. in Belvidere for 24 years. Terry enjoyed vacationing in Daytona Beach, FL, loved the 95 degree weather and walking alongside the ocean collecting sea shells. He also enjoyed fishing and fencing. He was proud to have served his country as a United States Marine. Terry also volunteered at the Salem Lutheran Church food pantry. Most of all, he loved the time spent with family and attending all sporting and academic events of his grandchildren.

Terry is survived by his children, Debra (Rob) Wagner, Trudy Bunge and Kevin (Jean) Bunge; grandchildren, Brad (Jamie), Wendy (Matt), Tracy (Nick), Jamie (Nick), Kristin, Ariel (Jon), Rick, Adam (Haley), Casey, Jared and Austin; step-grandchildren, Beth, Kristen, Erica; sister, Pat (Joe) Suzor; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margie Bunge; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents; wife, Dolores; daughter, Erin Bunge and brother, Michael Bunge.

Cremation rights will be accorded. A Celebration of Terry’s Life will be planned for a future date. Final resting place will be in Arlington Memorial Park, Rockford, IL. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice Care of Rockford.
