Terrie Hall

THERESA 'TERRIE' E. HALL, 67 ROCKFORD - Terrie Hall, 67, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014, after a courageous battle with ALS. Born August 8, 1947, in Rockford, the daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Bernunzio) Gianquinto. She married Dennis "Denny" Hall, on Sept. 2, 1967, in Rockford. Terrie was the former proud CEO of the Rockford Area Association of Realtors, RAAR, retiring in 2008. She was a three-term trustee of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois and trustee of the Natural Land Institute. Terrie received the YWCA Alta Hulett award and the Rotary Service Above Self award. She was a member of the Rockford Downtown Rotary and The Villages Noon Rotary (FL), the Midway Village Marketing committee, Chance Meeting Investment Club, Par None Golf Group, Birdies & Bogies Golf Group, Guys and Dolls Golf Group, Rockford Area Economic Development Council, Rockford Park District Foundation, Golden Apple Foundation of Rockford, and Rockford Valley College's Tech Prep and Computer and Information Systems Advisory Committee. Other community organizations in which Terrie had been active include: Klehm Arboretum, Sara Ingrassia Jacki Confer Dictionary Fund, Rockford Affordable Housing Coalition, Rock River Business Development committee, and numerous local, state and national Realtor's organizations. She participated in ALS research studies including the National ALS Biorepository, Mayo Clinic Biobank, and Immune Phenotyping in ALS. Survivors include husband Dennis; son Corey (Sophia) Hall of Plainfield, IL; daughter, Kari (Michael) Govignon of Fort Stewart, GA; grandson, Jackson; granddaughter, Charlotte; sister, Angie Goral; brother in-law, Ole (Pat) Prestegaard; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Crittenden. Memorial celebration will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, at Forest Hills Country Club.
