Loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother Theresa A. Cascio, 94, Rockford, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013. She was born May 4, 1918 to Valentino and Maria (Dal Santo) Dall’ Olio; she was a lifelong resident of Rockford, IL. As a young woman, Theresa was employed by Shan House to make uniforms for the military during WWII. She married Nicholas F. Cascio Sr. in Rockford on April 7, 1945. Together they raised four children in the Rockford community. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith as a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. After being nominated by the St. Patrick community, Theresa was elected Woman of the Year by the Rockford Deanery Council of Catholic Women in 2000. In addition to her involvement as a Silver Shamrock of St. Patrick Church, she was also a member of the local Venetian Club and an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. Theresa left an imprint on the hearts of all she knew and loved. She is survived by her children, Judy (Tim) Gilmore of Brandon, Fl., Marge (Keith) Anderson of DeKalb, Il., Nick Cascio Jr. and Jerry Cascio, both of Rockford; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Nick; sister, Ann Austin; brothers, Robert and Paul Dall’ Olio. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church; officiating Msgr. Michael Tierney. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations used to support Theresa’s favorite charities may be made to the family in lieu of flowers.
