Thomas Dow Crawford

Thomas Dow Crawford, age 65, died January 27th at home after a long illness.nbsp; He was the son of Dow and Jean Crawford and was born on April 22, 1942, in Danville, IL.nbsp; Tom graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelors in Architecture in 1966 and a Masters in Structural Engineering in 1968. Tom practiced structural engineering with the firm of Norman H. Meyer Consulting Structural Engineers for over 40 years.nbsp; His contributions can be found in buildings and bridges throughout the northern Illinois area.nbsp; Tom participated in numerous professional organizations, and he also served on municipal committees.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;
Tom married Sherri Lynn Frederick on August 2, 1969 in Oblong, IL. They enjoyed raising their two sons, Canon and Wade, in Rockford, IL. Tom served on school committees at Jackson School, was a Cub Scout leader and participated on various church committees at Christ United Methodist Church.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;
Tom is survived by his wife, Sherri, his sons, Canon, Portland, OR and Wade, Berkeley, CA, his mother, Jean Miller (Glenn), La Verne, CA, sister, Tamara Murray, Lafayette, CA, brother Steve (Amy), Alameda, CA, two nephews, Brendan and John, and one niece, Maile. Tom is predeceased by his father, Dow, and his brother, Joe.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;
Memorial Service at Christ United Methodist Church on Thursday evening, January 31, 2008 at 6:30 PM. Family will gather with friends after the service.
