Thomas Jude Bertolasi

Thomas Jude Bertolasi, 59, of Byron passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 at SwedishAmerican Heart Hospital. Born March 18, 1952,; the son of Francis and Rosemary Bertolasi. Tom was a graduate of Boylan Catholic High School, Class of 1970 and earned a Bachelors of Science Degree from Cardinal Strich College. He married Bambi Linn IngramHughes and happily adopted Falina. He worked at Ingersoll Milling Machine Co. and UDL Laboratory. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Elida Club. Tom was a loving husband, protective father, and devoted Papa to Alex. He enjoyed hunting and fishing while always on the hunt for the elusive Snaggletooth. He spent countless hours on the links with his friends and grandson. Tom was an enthusiastic cook that always prepared enough food to feed his family and a small army. He also had a very special place in his heart and home for each one of his FES daughters.

Survivors include his affectionate wife, Bambi; daughter, Falina (Munchie) and grandson, Alexander (Grasshopper), all of Byron; brother, Paul (Becky) Bertolasi of Winnebago; sisters Pam Donelli of Rockford, Patricia (Tom) Eckrich of Indianapolis and Mary (Luis) RamirezBertolasi of Arlington Heights; numerous nieces and nephews and each of his FES daughters from all around the world. Predeceased by his parents.

Memorial service will be held at 2:30p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 prior to the service at the funeral home.
