Thomas M. Mccann

Thomas M. McCann, 59, lifelong Rockford resident, died on Friday, January 19, 2018 in Swedish American Hospital. Born February 26, 1958, son of William M. and Barbara J. McCarville McCann. Graduated from East High School and attended Rock Valley College. Married Bertha Palafox in Rockford on April 5, 1997. Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany. Member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Thomas was compassionate, had an authentic personality and was a true gentleman. He was an avid Packer fan, loved animals, especially his dog Charley, and always lived life to the fullest.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha; siblings, Theresa McCann, James (Sandi) McCann, Kelley (Steve) Mindrup, Bridget McCann and Patrick (Melissa) McCann; numerous nieces and nephews and many loving members of Bertha’s extended family. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Sean.

Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Alejandro del Toro officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:45 p.m. Visitation also from 9-9:45 a.m. Thursday in the church. Memorials may be made to Rockford Rescue Mission.
