Thomas P. Brotcke

Thomas ?Tom Paul Brotcke, 46, of Rockford, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2009 in his home. Born on September 19, 1963; the son of Thomas and Sandra (Bell) Brotcke. He was an NIU Graduate with degrees in Biology and Chemistry and received his MBA from Rockford College. Tom was employed at Thermo-Fisher Scientific for 14 years as the market segment manager. Prior to that, Tom was a Research Biologist at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a recentCub Master for the Cub Scout Pack at Holy Family. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and being in nature. Most of all Tom loved spending time with his children.

Survivors include his children, Connor and Kaylie Brotcke; parents, Tom and Sandy Brotcke of Sycamore; sisters, Julie (P.J.) Olzen, Beth Wig and Angie Brotcke; several nephews and a niece.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30p.m on Friday, November 13, 2009 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation to be held from 1:00pm until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for an established educational fund for his children.
