Vincent J Nibbio

Vincent J. Nibbio, 79, of Rockford, died Thursday, February 25, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born November 18, 1936 in Rockford, IL, the son of Matthew and Josephine (DeCorte) Nibbio. He married the love of his life, Lucille Mastroianni, in Rockford on May 28, 1966. Vincent was a loving husband, cherished father, and devoted member of St. Edward Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lucille; his children, Dena (Steve) Lehst of McHenry, IL, Marcie Nibbio of Rockford, IL, and Natalie (Don) Altermatt of Kaiser, OR; his grandchildren Heather, Brandon, Michael, Adrianna, and Deven; his siblings, Eleanor Rotello, Frances Nibbio, and Nick Nibbio of CA; Sister in-law Pat Nibbio of Wauconda, IL, Brothers in-law, Jerry (Rose) Mastroianni and Michael (Crystal) Mastroianni, Sister in-law Nancy Mastroianni; Special friends Bill, Pat, and Nick Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, his brother, Sam, and sister, Martha, in-laws Don and Madeleine Haskell, and brother in-law Gene Mastroianni.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, 3004 Eleventh Street, Rockford. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at St. Edward Catholic Church. Entombment Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association appreciated.
