Violet L. Lundberg

Violet Linnea Lundberg, 84, Rockford, died Thursday, January 1, 2009, at home surrounded by her family. She was born September 5, 1924, in Rockford, the daughter of Carl and Davida (Nyberg) Johnson. Vi married Leslie Lundberg in Rockford on August 5, 1946. She was a cook at SwedishAmerican Hospital for 10 years and later owned the Oak View Restaurant in Cherry Valley. Vi was a member of the Silver Hill Evangelical Church. She was known as the Queen of Pancakes for her Swedish pancakes. Vi loved animals of all kinds. She is survived by her husband, Les; children, Debra Woodward, Dennis (Nancy) Lundberg, David Lundberg and Carolyn (Al) Case; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and her special friend, Monica. Predeceased by her parents, 2 brothers, Everett and Donald Johnson.Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, Il 61108 with Apostle Donald Lyon officiating. Visitation from 5pm until 7pm Tuesday, January 6, 2009, in the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following her service.
