Virgil John Field

Virgil John Field, 61 Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather Virgil John Field, 61, of Rockford, passed away on the evening of Monday, February 12, 2007. Born September 2, 1945 in Monroe, WI, the son of Marshall and Francis Field. Virgil loved fishing, going to garage sales, and spending time with his grandchildren. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1964. He then enlisted in the United States Navy and served two years during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he met and married his wife Linda on September 20, 1967. Together they raised three beautiful children: Renee, Daniel and Carrie. Virgil was also a very dedicated worker. He was machinist at Dial Machine for over 21 years. Virgil is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda; his children Renee (Juan) Figueroa of Chicago, Daniel (Sheri) of Byron and Carrie of Rockford; grandchildren, Katlyn, Summer and Jaxson; brother, Marshall (Opal) and sister, Darlene (Jack) Breit, both of Rockford and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. An open house celebration of Virgils life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2007 beginning at 1:00 p.m at 1330 Joanne Terrace, Byron, IL 61010. All of those who knew and loved Virgil are welcomed. Arrangements completed by Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel.
