Virginia Ann Stocker

Virginia Ann Stocker, 74, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 9, 1947, in Rockford, IL to Robert and Bernice Clark. Throughout her life, Ginny worked at places such as Amerock, Excelsior, Country Inn and finished her career at Kable News Company, retiring with over 25 years of service.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s many activities. She was a generous hostess and took great joy in sharing her talent for creating delicious meals that everyone enjoyed. She had a gift for making people feel welcomed, loved, and at ease. She enjoyed being out in the sun mowing the grass, gardening, and caring for her flowers, and she took pleasure in solving the daily crossword puzzle over a cup of coffee each morning. In her retirement, she also enjoyed activities such as yoga, water aerobics, and tap dancing,

Ginny is survived by her significant other, Jan DeForge; children, Joan Long (Paul Knodle), Jeff Sundberg (Elizabeth Allen), Casey (Fabi) DeForge, Jeremy (Pia) DeForge, Erin (Eric) Schmidt; grandchildren, Grant, Candance, Cora, Alexander, Zoe, and Hailey and brother, Thomas Clark. She is predeceased by her parents.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3910 N. Rockton Avenue. A funeral service will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. Please wear masks and social distance for any events attended.
