Wanda Lee Dawson

WANDA LEE DAWSON, 84, Rockford, died at 1:50P.M., Friday, March 16, 2007 in Amberwood Care Center. Born June 8, 1922 in Walnut Ridge, ARK., daughter of Robert and Etta Wilson. Married Elisha L. Dawson in Lauratown, ARK. in 1938. She had been a member of the Virginia Avenue Church of God and also a volunteer for the Salvation Army. Wanda was a loving, giving, pleasant woman. She loved to travel and lived life to the fullest. She was devoted to her family and did all she could for them. Survivors include her children, Yvonne (Russell) Fagan, Porterville, CA., Anna (Glenn) Thompson, Rockford, Wanda M. Dawson, Davis, David Dawson, Rockford. and Karen (Vernon) Hutchison, Davis; sisters, Maxine (James) Holt, CA and Betty (Carl) Rowell, Rockford; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her traveling buddy and sister-in-law, Vonna Wilson Richmond. Predeceased by her husband in February, 1980, parents, son, Douglas Dawson; brothers, Carl Wilson and Robert Wilson; sister, Charlene Wilson and her nephew, David Dawson. Her family would like to thank Unity Hospice for their care. Funeral service at 11A.M. Wednesday, March 21, 2007 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. James Moore, Riverside Assembly of God Church Church officiating. Visitation from 10A.M. until time of the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the family.
