William A. Ritschel

William ?Bill Arthur Ritschel, 71, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2008, in his home. Born March 9, 1937, in Rockford, the son of Joseph A. and Laurel Siebert Ritschel. He was a graduate of St. Thomas Catholic High School. Married Virginia Ginger Schiro in Rockford on January 21, 1961. Bill worked for Camcar as a machinist for 36 years until retiring in 1996. After his retirement, he and his son, David, owned and operated Quick Care Auto on 11th Street. Bill spent many Christmas seasons working at Ritschels Market on 11th St. with his parents. He was a lifelong member of St. Edwards Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Ginger; children, Patrick (Dawn), David (Kim) , Tina (Ty) Haynes, Thomas (Amanda) and Jason Ritschel; grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher, Nikolas, Amber and Sophia Ritschel, Caitlin, Jaclyn, and Jonathan Ritschel, Travis, Tim and Tyler Haynes, Benjamin and Abraham Ritschel; and brother, Joseph Ritschel. Predeceased by parents and brother, Raymond. A special thanks to the nurses and staff at OSF Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. Funeral Mass will be offered by Fr. Michael G. Black at 10:00 am Friday, August 29, 2008, in St. Edwards Catholic Church, 3004 11th St. Rockford, IL. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Thursday, August 28, 2008, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108, with a rosary recited at 5:30pm, followed by a time of sharing and a visitation from 9-10am Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to the family.
