William (Bill) J. Russell, 76
Rockford- William (Bill) J. Russell, 76, died on June 1, 2016 at St. Anthony Medical Center. Born September 30, 1939 in St. Anthony’s Hospital to William and Ernestine (Jelinek) Russell. Lived all his life in Rockford. Graduated from West High School in 1957 and attended Rockford Business School and Rockford College. Bill was employed at E & W Clothing House, then Liggett & Myers Tobacco, Inc. Was also employed at Rockford Newspapers, Inc., Rockford Door Sales and then Cropps Door Service until his retirement in 1998. Married Amelia (Amy) Moscinski on October 14, 1967 at St. Stanislaus Church. Bill was a member of Sveas Soner Singing Society for 25 years and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church where he also sang in their choir for many years. He was a supporter and volunteer at Carpenter’s Place, furnishing haircuts to their clients. Bill recruited several sponsors for children and seniors for Unbound. He loved to cook, especially for Thanksgiving. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Amy, sister-in-law, Bonnie (Jerry) Andelman, brothers-in-law, Robert, Gordon, (Mary), Dennis (Jan Rose), and Kenneth Moscinski all of Rockford, and several nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents and a sister, Sylvia Gehres. Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 at Holy Family Church with a visitation from 9:30 am until time of mass. Entombment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
