William "Bill" Maxey

September 25, 1925 — November 15, 2014

William “Bill” Ralph Maxey was born Sept. 25, 1925 to Robert F, Maxey and Edna (Elder) Maxey in Kinmundy, IL and passed away peacefully on Saturday Nov. 15, 2014. Bill graduated from Rock Falls High School in 1943 and served in the U.S. Navy following graduation. After serving his country, he worked at Dohrn Transfer as a mechanic. Following retirement from Dohrn, he worked at Trans Am, Diesel Power and Burkhart Farms. Bill held memberships as a Free Mason’, Tebala Shriners, Loyal Order of Moose and the V.F.W.

Bill’s main passion was found behind the handle bars of a motorcycle. He was a charter member and president of both Forest City Rider Motorcycle Club and Midwest National Enduro Riders Assoc. He was also a member of HOG. Bill was life time member of American Motorcycle Association where served 30 years as District Congressman. Bill spent his free time riding his motorcycles, enjoyed spending time farming, dancing, playing cards and dominoes with family, and sharing a good joke with friends.

Survivors include his Daughters, Audrey Maxey and Joanne Paske. Sons, David, Ron (Mary) and James (Marsha) Maxey. Grandchildren, Lisa Maxey, Anna (Dan) Jones, Brent and Danny Paske, Sara, Leanne, Sam, Ben and Tommy Maxey. Step-grandchildren, Juanita (Kevin) Ware, Theresa (Matt) Staaf, Matt (Cindy) Voss, Melvin (Shirley) Brodston. Brother-in-law, Joe Holman. Predeceased by his parents. Sisters, Frances (Mervin) Janssen, Martha (Clyde) Smith, Olive (Robert) Seloover, Laura Holman, Lucille (Earl & Al) Stewart-Meyer, Anita and Wanda Maxey. Brothers, Robert (Ruth), Marion (Lillian) and Dale (Pat). His former wife and mother of their children, Lois Manon Maxey.
