William Bruce Moore, 66, Rockford, passed away peacefully Friday, December 2, 2011, in his home, surrounded by his family.nbsp; He was born February 27, 1945, in Marshall, Michigan, the son of Durwood C. and Ruth (Winslow) Moore.nbsp; Bill grew up in Harbor Springs, Michigan and graduated in 1963, from Sault High School in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.nbsp; He graduated from Michigan State University in 1967, with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. Bill was employed for 25 years at Sundstrand Aviation in Rockford and 28 years as a partner in the rental business known as KR Associates.nbsp; He most recently worked for Vincent Investment Properties. Bill married Pamela Syrjala in 1967 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sault Ste. Marie and they moved to Rockford that year. He served in leadership positions in the YIndian Guides, Cub Scout Pack 429, and Boy Scout Troop 429. Bill also volunteered with Little League baseball at Roy Gayle Park and was a longtime donor at the Rock River Valley Blood Bank. nbsp;He enjoyed family camping and other vacations to visit friends and relatives who live in many places across our great country. Bills generous spirit set a great example for all of us.nbsp; He was always willing to help others, including being an advocate for organ donation. Special thanks to Dr. William Edgren, Dr. William Edwards, SwedishAmerican Heart Hospital and SwedishAmerican Home Health Services, Van Matre Rehab Hospital and Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center for their care and compassion.



Survived by his wife of 44 years, Pam; sons, Robert Matthew Moore of Rockford and James William Moore of Ft. Dix, NJ; granddaughter, Madeline Louise Moore of Indianapolis; sister, Marilyn Becker of Livingston, TN; brother, Robert D. Moore of Vero Beach, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Predeceased by his parents and sisters, Avice Bloomberg and Doryl Langlois.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 10, 2011, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr. with Reverend David Peck officiating.nbsp; Visitation from 4:00pm until 8:00pm Friday, December 9, 2011, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd and from 10:00am until 10:45am at the church on Saturday. nbsp;Cremation rites will be accorded following the service and he will brought to his childhood home of Harbor Springs, Michigan, which overlooks Lake Michigan.
