William M. Lembke

William M. Lembke, 83, of Cherry Valley passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Presence Cor Mariae Center. Born in Elgin, on August 5, 1930, the son of William and Augusta (Fischer) Lembke. William was a veteran serving in the United States Army. He married Esther Iehl on March 11, 1967; she predeceased him on March 13, 2013. William loved camping and fishing with his family. They took many trips all over the United States and Canada. He also enjoyed reading and watching old westerns, especially John Wayne.

Survived by his son, Timothy (Becky) Lembke of Taylorville and Bonnie (Bill) Schurr of Cherry Valley; grandchildren, Megan (Mike) Fallon and Nathan (Amber) Waugh; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kira, Ethan, Connor and Ryleigh and several nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by his brother, Marvin Lembke and sister, Vernelda Grupe.

Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
