William Bill P. Carey, died in his home September 9, 2010, after complications of an

angiogram.nbsp; He was born March 29, 1933,nbsp; in Newark, AK to Joe and Ethel ( Young ) Carey.nbsp; He moved to Rockford in 1944, where he was employed as a machinist at Amerock Corporation, Bill married Virginia (Jenny ) Kittle Dec. 1, 1951.nbsp; They were married just shy of 59 years.nbsp; They moved to Byron, in 1954, and remained in the Byron area until his death.

Bill strived to give his wife and children a good life and future, and to that end he bettered his education by attending night school and receiving his high school diploma in his early thirties.nbsp; He was known to read encyclopedias and was a self taught general contractor and electrician. He owned and operated Razorback Co. and Carey Electric until his retirement in 1991. He maintained a close relationship with his family and friends, and was a doting grandfather and great-grandfather.nbsp; He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, swimming, volleyball, badminton, cards, and a good argument.

Bill is survived by his sons, Dan (Joann) Kittle of Winnebago, Dave (Jamie) Carey of Leaf River, Doug (Patti) Carey of Byron, and daughter Debbi (Duane) Hazzard of Winnebago.nbsp; Grandchildren; Patrick (Theresa) Kittle, Colleen Kittle, Cassi (Eric) Sutherland, Hilary Carey, Chad (Stephanie) Worman, Brian Worman, Ryan Harleman, Eric (Trisha) Harleman, and Erin (Nyle) Smith; great-grandchildren, Logan, Devon, Kayla, Rayna,and Kingston.nbsp; brothers James (Bob), Joe, Gean, and Ron Carey; sisters, Emma Huff and Augie (Jim) Keltner; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by wife, Jenny, parents Joe and Ethel Carey; brothersnbsp; Lee, David, and Johnny and a sister, Bernice.

Special thanks to Tsetsgee (Segee) Gurbazar, who is an angel sent by God, to care for him in his home.nbsp; Without Segee, his wish to be at home would not have been realized, and to Ogle County Hospice for all their help and support.

A Memorial Service will be at 7:00 pm, Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av. Rockford, IL 61103.
