William T. ""Bill"" Crosser, 86, of Rockford, died at 9:21 PM, Thursday, November 22, 2007, in his home, with his family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 27, 1921, in Portageville, MO. Married Eva Galloway on September 21, 1940. They recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. Veteran of the United States Army where he attained the rank of Sergeant. Owner of Crossers Foundations. Bill enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, gardening, watching ""Judge Judy"" , bowling, going to auctions, watching the Green Bay Packers, playing cards, especially Rummy with Eva, and he loved being around children. Following his retirement, he traveled the Rockford area buying, restoring, and selling antiques. He collected clocks and phonographs, earning the nickname of ""Victrola Man"" . Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Eva; precious niece and nephew, Shelia Kay Palmer and Billy Kevin Galloway; loving granddaughters, Nicky Galloway ( fianca©, Brandon Droy), Jessie and Franchesca Schiro, 2 sisters, Mary Toll and Velvie Harris, both in Arkansas and 1 brother, John Crosser, in Kansas; also survived by many nieces and nephews including Jimmy Jones, Randall McBride, Robbie, Jeff, Mark, and Tracy Crosser, all from Rockford, and Sheila ""Holly"" Rippie living in Arizona. Predeceased by parents, 1 brother, Robert Crosser and 4 sisters, Mary Louise McBridge, Garnelle Harkness, Savannabe ""Tot"" Whytt, and Pauline King. A Memorial gathering will be held at a later date. His family would like to thank Bills ""girls"" at Hospice Care of America for taking such good care of him, especially his nurse, Lorna. He will be greatly missed by his granddaughter, Nicky and wife, Eva. These are the people he often said he lived for and who gave him the strength to fight as long as he did.
