WINIFRED Winnie SWANSON, 85 ROCKFORD - Winifred Winnie Swanson, 85, of Rockford passed away March 8, 2008, in Provena Cor Mariae. Born Dec. 28, 1922, in Gratiot, Wis., to Harry and Bernice (Russell) Nethery. A 1940 graduate of Shullsburg (Wis.) High School. Winnie married Roy L. Swanson in Rockford on June 1, 1946; he predeceased her on March 4, 1999. Winnie worked for Illinois Bell, Smith Oil and Shumway Seeds before her retirement in 1966. She is also a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Winnie is survived by daughters, Helen Louise (Dale) Osterholz and Patricia (Kerry) Lamont; grandchildren, Jeffrey Krause (Diane), Michael (Kacy) Krause, Debra (Jody) Gilligan, Corey Lamont (Misty),Travis (Cindie) Lamont and Jennifer (Jeff) Ring; great-grandchildren, Mitchel, Nicholas, Cameron, MacKenzie, Damon, Aliyah, Emily, Gavin, Addison, Garrett, Zack, Sean and Ariana; brothers, John Nethery, George (Roberta) Nethery and Robert (Jackie) Nethery; sisters, Eunice Doyle, Dorothy (Donn) Johnson and Shirley Nethery; sister-in-law, Marlys Nethery; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; husband; brother, Richard Nethery; and sister-in-law, Helen Michael. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, in the funeral home, and also from 10 a.m. to service time on Wednesday. Internment will follow in Scandinavian Cemetery.
