Yola F. Edwards

Yola F. Edwards, 77 of Rockford, died Thursday, April 17, 2008 in her home surrounded by her family. Born August 20, 1930 in Freeport and raised in Warren. She is the  daughter of Ralph and Helen (Sundberg) Gille. Married her loving husband Homer Edwards on July 3, 1947 in Rockford. Worked for Alpine Fireside Nursing Home for 10 years. Yola was a faithful member for 55 years of Riverside Assembly of God and enjoyed to cook and bake.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice Association and her caregivers. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Homer; children, Russell (Charlotte) of Rockford, Linda (Larry) Ratze of Loves Park, Dale (Laurie) of Rockford and Howard (Linda) of Burlington, WI; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and brother, Roger (Maris) Gille of Rockford. Preceded in death by her Parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters.   Funeral service Monday, April 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Assembly of God Christian Center, 4242 W. Riverside Blvd, Rockford with Pastor James Moore officiating. Interment in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation Sunday, April 20 from 5-8 p.m. in the church and will continue on Monday from 10-11 a.m. Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
