Alfred C. Pfaff

Alfred "Al C.  Pfaff,  74Beloved Husband,  Loving Father,  and Worlds Greatest Grandpa Rockford Alfred "Al C.  Pfaff,  74 ofRockford,  died Wednesday,  January 28,  2009 at 5:44 a.m. at Alden Park Strathmoor Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family.  Born July 7,  1934 inMauston,  WI to Fredrick and Meda (St.  Clair) Pfaff.  He served in the 2 nd Armored Division while stationed inEurope as a M48 tank driver.  He had a wide circle of friends and was always the first to help a friend in need. Survivors include;  wife Carol (Mazur) Pfaff;  Daughter,  Cheryl (Michael) Mech;  Son,  Craig (Danilee) Pfaff.  Grandchildren;  Brett and Cody Mech and Conor,  Carson and Cassidy Pfaff.  Brother Arthur Pfaff,  Sisters Evelyn Cowan and Delores Thompson.  Services held 1 p.m. Saturday,  January 31,  2009 at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church 5183 Pebble Creek Trail,Loves Park, Il 61111 with Pastor Timothy Gumm officiating.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at church.  Memorials may be made to Amyloidosis Research Foundation 7151 N.  Main St
