Angela Gianquinto Franks

March 3, 1941 — March 14, 2024

Rockford

Angela “Angie” Gianquinto Franks, 83, went to be with the Lord on March 14, 2024, in her hometown of Rockford. Born on March 3, 1941, she was the oldest of three daughters to Philip and Ann (Bordonaro) Gianquinto. During her professional years, she was a claims processor for Aetna Insurance, until she retired to fully dedicate herself to her husband Larry's care through his final years of life. She married the love of her life, Lawrence “Larry” H. Franks Jr. on July 1, 1961, and they shared almost 50 years of devoted marriage before his passing on January 31, 2011. Angie found great comfort in her Catholic faith and her devotion to our Blessed Mother; she was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Angie also found joy in simple pleasures; she enjoyed reading and was a founding member of Card Club, which began in 1964 with dear, lifelong friends.  Angie attended Card Club up until her recent illness.  She cherished moments spent being active with friends and family, including her grandchildren and great children.  Travels and casino fun with her treasured sisters and cousins brought her much love, fun, and laughter. Her genuine warmth and vibrant personality touched the lives of all who knew her.

She will be missed by those who loved her most, her children Victoria Franks, Denise (Jim) Bowen, and Lawrence Franks; her grandchildren Thomas, Olivia, Rebecca, Angel, Rachel, Hailey (Elijah) Witt, Courtney and Cary; her great grandchildren Alexia, Memphis, and Aubry; her treasured sisters Connie Hovis and Vita Locarno; dear brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Sandy Meyers; nieces and nephews Christina, Joe, Tom, Jenny and their families. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Larry; her parents; brothers-in-law, Ron Locarno and Robert (Ann) Meyers. A very special thank you and much gratitude to Ascension Living Saint Anne Place and OSF Hospice & Sister Angelica for all of the care, love and compassion given to Angie and her family.
