Anneliese Puetz

Anneliese Puetz, 93, of Rockford, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. She was born in Germany on April 6, 1930, the daughter of Erich K. and Hildegard Franke. Anneliese married Ferdinand “Fred” Puetz and had two sons, Dietmar and Ulrich. She came to the United States in early spring of 1963, and worked in Rockford for National Lock and as a clerk for DJ Stewarts in her earlier years. Anneliese loved working in her gardens, crocheting and listening to music. She loved her grandchildren immensely and credits them for teaching her computer skills such as editing photos, making her own greeting cards and listening to her favorite music. She was an original member of the German Society of Rockford during her earlier years. Anneliese will be forever remembered as a loving mother and Oma.

She is survived by her sons, Dietmar (Sue) and Ulrich “Rick” Puetz; her grandchildren, Kevin and Kyle (fiancé, Ane) Puetz and Jordan (fiancé, Monica) Puetz and her special and longtime friend, Red Nesheim. Predeceased by her parents and her husband, Ferdinand Puetz. The family would like to thank the loving and caring nurses, doctors and staff at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center where she resided for 3 ½ years.

A Celebration of Life open house will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, 3470 N. Alpine Rd.
