Anella Termondt - Hague, ND – Rockford, IL

Anella, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed peacefully on May 13, 2025.

Anella was born in Hague, North Dakota, to Joseph Lipp and Helen Materi. She grew up in a large and loving family with her siblings, Mary, Diane, Duane, Leonard, Joe, Alma, Mike, Vernon and Daniel.

Anella dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked for many years as a Nurse’s Aide at Rockford Memorial Hospital, where her compassion and kindness touched countless lives. After retiring, she continued her commitment to service by volunteering at the Center of Hope and serving as a Eucharistic Minister for St. Bernadette Catholic Church and at the hospital.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) Termondt, her grandson, Nicholas Handlin, her sister, Alma, and her brothers Duane, Vernon, and Dan,

Anella is survived by her children, Rich Termondt, Sheila Lee, Penny Handlin, Cliff Harty; and her cherished grandchildren, Nicole Hammond, Krystal Kowall, Danielle Lee, Brooke Gedwill, Alex Termondt, Laura Termondt, Riley Termondt; and her beloved great grandchildren Ben, Paisley and Jillian.

Anella will be remembered for her warmth, strength, faith, and enduring belief in helping others. In her memory, please honor her legacy by doing something kind for another person.

A funeral Mass will be on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 10:30 am at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave, Rockford. Interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Anella’s life and the many ways she brightened the lives of those around her.
