Barbara "Barb" Ann Jurgensmeier

Barbara “Barb” Ann Jurgensmeier, 85, of Rockford, passed away on June 15, 2023. She was born on November 11, 1937, in Rockford, the daughter of Robert and Mildred (Lupant) Hallaisy. She married William “Big Ed” on July 2, 1955, in Rockford. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2001. Barb worked as a secretary for Midwest Dairyman’s Corporation. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and going gambling at the casinos. She was well known for being generous and caring, and always putting other people before herself.

She is survived by those who love her most; sons, William “Bill” Jurgensmeier, Robert “Bob” (Tracey) Jurgensmeier, and Karl “Luchi” Jurgensmeier; grandchildren, Wendi, Krystal, Terry, Evan, and Elijah; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Kristina “Tina” (Don) Fritz; nieces and nephews, Sara, Amy, Jessica, Josh, and many more; special family, Pat (Jan) and Donna (Terry); and special friend, LaVern and many others. She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Big Ed; and many pets including Rusty, Louie, and Butters.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108. A Funeral Service will be on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel. Burial will be in Willwood Cemetery.
