Bette J. Dease

Dease, Bette J. (nee Westergard), 86, recently of Rockford. Beloved wife of the late William L., dear sister of the late Jack Westergard, devoted mother of Ellen M. and Mary E. Dease, fond Aunt of Barbara A. Jones and James W. Dease. Born in Omaha, Bette was secretary to Nebraska Governor Dwight P. Griswold from 1943-46. A Chicago resident after her marriage, she worked tirelessly as a precinct captain with the 50th Ward Regular Republican Organization from 1960-66, supporting then- Ald. Jack I. Sperling. Amid the late 1970s, Bette was active in Amity charities benefiting Freeport (IL) Memorial Hospital. Interment private.
