Chris S. Keckler

Chris S. Keckler, 72, of Rockford, passed away on March 31, 2026, while enjoying life on a cruise ship vacation, doing one of the many things he loved.

Chris was born in Rockford on March 22, 1954, the son of Clarence and Edna Mae (Messer) Keckler. Chris graduated from Rockford West High School, Class of 1972 and went on to attend Rock Valley College. He worked many years for Logli's/Shnuck's Grocery Store on 11th Street in Rockford for many years until his retirement. Chris was known to be a hard worker and always gave his full dedication to anything he put his mind to in life. He enjoyed going on many cruise trips and vacationing to Florida, visiting casinos and taking his beloved dog, Nikita on walks and to the dog park. Chris simply cherished meeting new people and making many new friends and great memories along the way. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving relatives include his sister, Jodine (Paul) Hudson; nephew, Andrew Hudson; numerous cousins, extended family, and special friends acquired on his cruise vacations who truly became like family to Chris. He is predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Edna Mae Keckler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Chris's name to the American Kidney Cancer Foundation.
