Cynthia "Cindy" A. Aylward

Cynthia A. “Cindy” Aylward, 76, Rockford, died peacefully in her home on Monday, September 23, 2025. Born December 24, 1948 in Joliet, daughter of Lawrence and Naomi Apgar Ross. Graduated from Creston High School in Grand Rapids, MI. She and Rick Aylward were married in Rockford on July 3, 1981. Cindy worked in retail jewelry for over 30 years. She truly adored her dogs Wheaton, Duffy, and Winston, who brought her great happiness and comfort throughout the years. She enjoyed going to estate sales, gardening and decorating her home. Her favorite days were having family over during the holidays when the house was full of energy and life. Special thanks to her caregivers, Marcia, Reva and Lenore for their love and dedication to Cindy over the years.

Survivors include her husband, Rick; sons, Jeff (Jodi) Theien, Marc (Amy) Theien and Brad (Jennifer) Theien; daughter, Kari Aylward; grandchildren, Kiley (Trevor) Griseta, Kenzie (Daniel) Rosenstiel, Karley, Evan, Julia, Jonathan, Ellie, Natalie; great-grandchildren, Kade and Luke and her special westie, Winston.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. On Monday, September 29, 2025, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel. Visitation from 11:30 a.m. until time of the service.
